James 5:16a "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed." Effective prayer is based on the Word of God and prayed in faith, God responds to faith not emotions, and faith comes from hearing the Word of God. EMPOWERMENT: Last Sunday I showed you a path that Jesus laid out for everyone who has a radical desire to follow Him. Not a path of least resistance but of self denial, a path of death, burial & resurrection. A path of two Baptisms that absolutely transform your walk with God, increase your ability to understand scripture & fast forward you in your faith, a call to live a life of faith based on Gods word, not culture, or religious training, or traditions.

Many people do not know who they are or why they exist so they go around asking stupid questions. How are people treating me? Am i proving myself, am i succeeding, am i failing, & am i being treated fairly? In a search for significance they become self-centered & when you decide to be your own center, everything falls apart: physically, socially, spiritually, and psychologically. When you bargain with God and seek SELF-fulfillment, when you say or think "I will follow Jesus, if my health is good, my family is together, if my needs are met, then you are saying "I AM KING" But Jesus is NOT a means to an end, He will NOT be used! If He calls you to follow him, HE must be the GOAL.

God promises to strengthen, help, and uphold the descendants of Abraham. God also promises that those who wage war against, those who fight against or contend with Israel shall be and I quote "as nothing, as a nonexistent thing". And if that is not enough God tops it off with one last HUGE promise verse Isa 41:13 " For I the LORD your GOD, will uphold your right hand, saying to you, Fear not, I will help you" NKJV. WOW! it's good to have God on your side, God is definitely on Israel's side and that's good for them, but I wonder whats really in it for me?

WHATS IN IT FOR ME? When most people we know are busy looking for self- fulfillment and self- gratification, and not self denial it can make sharing our faith a little more difficult. Most people will avoid you like an Amway distributor once they find out your a "Christian" and unfortunately there may be many today that have wondered if you are at the bottom of a cosmic Multi-level marketing scheme. You have heard all the promises but have wondered about the results. So hold on and fasten your seat belts because today and in the weeks to come we are going to search through the promises of God and find out just exactly WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU!

Today is the tenth anniversary of the worst terrorist attack our nation has ever endured and even though 9/11/2001 happened in New York, Washington D.C. & the countryside of Pennsylvania, it's impact was global. The truth is that all of life is intertwined and open ended. Let's set the scene and start at Mark 16:5-8.

Reaching, Training, Planting, Touching. Missionary Bob Thomas teaches at the Addis Ababa Bible College, preaches at the local EAG Churches & help church planters as they get established in new communities. Bob & Rhonda work with the EAG Central office to develop support systems for local churches in ministering to Adults, Youth & Children & Evangelism. Discipleship & Pastoral training are top priorities & we need to address! Our compassion ministries include: Children's feeding/schooling, Job training, AIDS support and more. As the only AGWM family living in Ethiopia full time we are praying the Lord of the Harvest will send more laborers into THIS harvest field.
RHONDA: Continues to serve on the school board for Bingham Academy. She is working in the area of hospitality at Bingham Academy. She has also been involved in preaching and teaching at Addis Ababa Bible College and in local churches here in Ethiopia.
